For whatever reason, it is socially acceptable for a complete stranger to refer to a woman as having a "cute belly" is when the woman is pregnant. At any other time, describing a woman's physique would probably be considered rude (or lewd). It's odd how pregnancy somehow opens the door to all sorts of personal comments...
