Feed me, Seymour!

I decided to re-enter the world of sourdough. I had a sourdough starter back in Austin that I made (with the help of some yeast) but had to abandon it when we made our trek across the country. About a week ago, I decided to start anew and make a new batch of starter. Since I'd dubbed my old starter Persephone, of course this new batch had to be called Persephone II. Anyway, thanks to uncle-in-law Jack, I had a new book to guide me through my sourdough journey (Alaska Sourdough). Persephone II was created sans yeast for more authenticity. We tested her out on a first go-round this past weekend, making sourdough pancakes. Much to my delight, we discovered that she is very much alive! This evening, we made sourdough cornbread. More sourdough goodness to follow, I'm sure :) .
