A slight rethinking of my holiday position...

So, shortly after my last post, I had a conversation with my mother.  I told her what I was thinking, and that I am not accepting presents this season.  Then, she reminded me that one of the gifts she was going to give me is a quilt she is making.  So, I took a few moments to reconsider.  Now, remember that I am not anti-gift, it's just the shameless marketing of affection that comes with the holiday shopping season that truly disturbs me.  So, for the record, I will not accept a gift that has been purchased.

Now, having said that, let me take the time to wish you all a happy holiday season.  Forget the presents, just spend some time with the people that matter.
