and today's stuff
OMG!! I just heard The Arcade Fire "Power Out" on the radio in OHIO. I'm sorry... I just think of this place as so backwater, but I just have to remind myself that though my sister lives in the 'burbs, it's outside a college town that I'm itching to explore. Hopefully, we can on Monday before I fly out...
So, today we piddled around watching TV, playing on the computer, notta lotta. Isabelle had a birthday party at Build-A-Bear and then they went over to McDonald's. This was the biggest freakin' McDonald's I've ever seen in my life! I was pretty entertained by the three-story McD's in NYC, but this place was massive! Giant playground in the middle of it, a stage for the kids to play on, a sundae bar... crazy indulgence for overpaid people.
But there was also a Trader Joes! I've wanted to go to one since Dottie told me about it. They didn't have the wasabi peanuts, but the lady gave me some wasabi peas. Also, I got some roasted edamame and chocolate chip pancake mix. I'm pretty jazzed. The kids will be so surprised!
Had a mishap at Target, but after that I put Vasilis in the car, and he passed the hell out in about 10 minutes and didn't wake up even after being moved in and out of he car several times and sitting in a loud-ass McD's for an hour.
After the birthday party we went to the playground at Isabelle's school, and when I said it was time to go she insisted on picking up all the trash she saw. What a good kid! She went on a little monologue about how she wants to help the planet and clean up litter and be good to animals so the world can be a better place, and she makes me so proud!
