It's been a really lovely weekend.
Friday night, we went out to dinner at Daddy Mims with my manager and her son. We talked about travel and books--she's currently reading a retelling of The Scarlet Letter set in what sounds like a dystopian future that sounds really neat--and Noah told us silly jokes. The food was wonderful, especially the shrimp and grits and the pecan pie, which was weirdly and wonderfully buttery instead of just sickeningly sweet.
Saturday was nice and lazy until game. Scott's still running his game, and likely will be for another session or two--until we deal with the dragon--and it went pretty well. I really like that I'm gaming again. I love this group of people, scattered as we are. Yay internet! Dustin joined us this week with a foul-mouthed 'mindmage'. This makes me happy.
I need to start churning out some information for my game and figure out where I want to nudge Red Justice from here pretty gosh darn soon. Looks like I'll be running again in about a month (ish). I've been working on worldbuilding instead of plotting and scheming, and my wonderful husband bought me Excel to facilitate this. Open Office just wasn't doing the things I wanted it to. Think I'll spend a little more time poking at the world before I get back into GM mindset.
Today, I went to brunch with mom, Eric and Carrie at Cafe La Fontana. Their sausage quiche is seriously tasty. It was really nice just hanging out and chatting. Good food plus good conversation is just about my favorite combination in the world, and I got it twice this weekend.
And tonight's been nice and lazy. I scheduled tomorrow off work with plans of doing stuff, but I think I might just geek out. Or maybe do some cleaning while Justin's away. But don't hold me to that.
So, yeah, this is just me checking in to note that I'm happy.
