Wishlist!

I'm usually so very bad about putting together a wishlist for Christmas, which means I get a bunch of weird random stuff which sometimes, as with Francis the Hiphop Hedgehog from last year, totally hit the mark and sometimes, like random cardigans and toe socks, don't. I know what I want for 2012 in a broader sense, not just where stuff is concerned, so it's easier to figure out what stuff will be useful or fun. I have a better idea, this year, of what makes me happy.

So, I have an actual list, but that's only half of the equation. I also want to be better at giving gifts. Not just for Christmas, either. I really suck at it, I know. Justin is awesome at it. (Over the years, he's given me one perfect gift after another, proving that he really pays attention.) I want to be more like him. Help me out with that, yeah?

Ice Cream Maker - 2012 will be the Year of Making Ice Cream. I have so many wonderful, tasty ideas. Now, I just need the tools. And the know-how. But whatever, once I have the tools, I will totally figure it out. Because said tools likely come with instruction manuals and recipe books. Right?

Food Processor - I suspect that I'll need to make purees in order to make ice cream. I also want to be able to make yummy soups which often require that the ingredients be properly mooshed to achieve the right texture. Which to make first: carrot soup or carrot ice cream..?

Stripey Crew Socks - Or any cute crew socks, really. Not toe socks or knee socks or sports socks or any other sort of obnoxious sock which makes wearing shoes even less pleasant for my wish-they-were-bare feet. Not sure what I mean? Crew socks are fairly short, a few inches above the ankle without really being midcalf. They should be a relatively light fabric. Stripes are a plus, but I'll take nearly anything that's comfortable. Here is an example of what I mean.

Books - I've got an Amazon wishlist but don't feel obligated to stick to that list. I love short stories, mythology, fairy tales, fantasy, science fiction, dystopic and apocalyptic themes.

Soap - Handmade, organic soap makes me happy. I'll probably be getting some for some of you...

Other House Stuff - If you have a deep craving to get anything else for our apartment, try to avoid seasonal stuff, unless it's got a solely snowflake theme. Snowflakes are always in season, in my book. So are moths, for that matter. Our color scheme is roughly dark red and black and cream. I'm sure Justin wouldn't mind some more, good quality pots and pans.

Other Other Stuff - You can't go wrong with cookies. Or mixes of music you enjoy that you think I might also enjoy. Geeky stuff. Postcards and notecards that I can send out to other people. Anything you might think would help me with my 101 in 1001 list. Tasty wines and cheeses!

Beyond that, I'm not difficult, and I'm really not expecting much. I want a lot, but I'll be happy with a little. Mostly, I just want to make my own ice cream. And I want Justin to make toads-in-the-hole for breakfast. And I want to maybe play some Apples to Apples while sipping mimosas. That sounds just about perfect.

So, now that I've got that out of the way...
What do you want?
