Gender, tech savvy and email etiquette.

As a decent chunk of you know, I sent out an email to a group of people this week regarding issues that affect most members of the group. On the original to and cc lists, there were seven girls and seven guys. I received replies from four of the ladies and two of the men, which was about the anticipated response. What I noticed about the replies--other than the fact that they were awesome and helpful and constructive--was that the women replied just to me, individually, while the men replied to all. I argue that this is a gender issue, that it suggests something about how men and women voice their opinions differently or possibly how they view email etiquette. Justin suggests that this divide has less to do with gender and more to do with comfort and familiarity with technology and net culture as the two men are notably more tech savvy than, well, most of us. The counterargument is, of course, that this suggests that (at least within my little test pool here) men are more tech savvy than women.
