So, I decided ages ago that I wanted to run a play-by-email game based on this marvelous book I'm reading, set in its world, but that kind of sputtered and died, in part because I couldn't find a sufficient number of players (needs to be a multiple of four). Giving it another go, and... getting very excited. I've got the players (most of them, anyway) and just got my first character submission today. He's not at all what I was expecting. Not that I really knew what to expect, mind, but he's just not anything I would've come up with on my own. And he's full of buttons to push and strings to pull! He set a high bar for the rest of the players, but I'm sure they'll reach it. I've been getting interesting questions from them which suggest some wonderful, peculiar lines of thought.
I'm getting so ridiculously excited about this. And maybe a touch nervous as I still have no idea how this will play out, given the unusual theme and format.
Wish us luck!
