Some things:

- Having unexpected houseguests went better than I expected it would. Mikey and Lily very kindly ignored how grumpy I was when they got here, and all four of us had a very nice Monday poking about at the mall and filling our bellies with seafood. It was a brief, but pleasant visit, and I'm glad for it.

- Our Friday night game... is presenting problems. Our GM is leading us through a story in which our own actions seem to mean nothing; it makes us not much want to do anything. He's trying, though, and we like him. He doesn't take critique well, so I don't know that addressing our concerns (again) will do much. And though I proposed an in character mutiny last week, I think that, in the end, it'll cause more trouble than it's worth. I don't want to hurt his feelings, but I don't want to keep showing up for a game where I don't feel like I'm playing, either. He's already got our success or failure determined before we roll anything, it seems. He already knows where he wants the story to go. Then he waits for us to tell him small, irrelevant details when it seems the outcome is already worked out. I don't know what to do. I love getting together to socialize with these people, and I'd love it if the game were going somewhere, but... I get the feeling that things are going to end badly. Makes me sad.

- Apparently, my grandmom tried to commit suicide the same way I did, though admittedly for better reasons. Which is to say, I had a very nice visit with her this weekend. I'm glad I went down. We just had lunch then sat about talking for a few hours. Good stuff. But then, talking with her always is.

- I've been in touch with one of my cousins on my dad's side. He emailed me after googling his last name (which is also mine) a few weeks ago. Just reinforces my belief that there are very, very few of us, that we can directly trace all of us back to my great grandmother. Might not be the case, but it certainly seems to be.

- Iron Maiden this weekend. It makes me giggle.

- My mommy sent (err, is going to send) me money for books for my birthday. The book I wanted isn't available locally. I'll probably pick it up online after being paid. So, instead I went to the comic shop and bought the following trade paperbacks: Lucifer #10 (Morningstar); Fables #1 & 2 (Legends in Exile & Animal Farm); V for Vendetta; Transmetropolitan #1 (Back on the Street). On my list of things I must purchase soonish: more Fables, more Transmet, new SiP (which I didn't realize existed, so I've got catching up to do); Watchmen.

- I've got mix-CDs to make. I keep starting and stopping. You people really need to start harassing me about these things.

- I should be in bed.
