How could I have neglected to mention this..?
There is floor where once there wasn't. That window that's been missing for two years has been rediscovered. Sunlight now streams into the living room. It's fucking fabulous. Justin and I tackled that mountain of junk over the weekend. Seriously. It's impressive. Sure, there's still some trash to take down, but it's all in bags and boxes and been sorted through. The apartment feels... more open, beautiful, the way it should. There's more I want to do, but the two biggest, scariest projects (the desk and the mountain) are now out of the way. I feel better being in that space now. The rest should be pie.
