Of Diablo III and gtags
I have a beta key for Diablo III and seriously. This game is beautiful. I play it on ultra settings and totally get lost in the lush graphics. As you're running around buildings will crumble, ravens take flight and mice will jump out of corners to run across your path. The game has a fixed camera and classic angled PoV, but those little touches really flesh out the game and help you forget about not being able to swing the camera to see the backside of the wall. One of the things I was disappointed with The Old Republic was that you had this amazing world and it was reduced to a non interactive animated backdrop. With Diablo, your surroundings react to what you're doing
As for game play. The Monk is so much fun to play! I really could go on for ages on how wicked fun it is to jump into a mob and aoe everything to the ground (this btw, is the only time it has ever been a good thing to say 'to the ground'). The chain lighting rune effect is my most favorite ability ever! Punch, punch, ZAP - and an arc of lighting spreads out among the zombies. Love it! I wish it was a little easier to switch between the abilities, because although you may not always need the knock back round house kick - occasionally, the dog pile gets a little heavy. The only bad thing I could say about the female monk (and this is a real nitpick) is that she's voiced by Aggra. Which is overused in WoW and (and I will never forgive her for Tyrande. Never.) her accent slips around - sometimes I think she's russian. Sometimes I think she's going for middle eastern. I just can't.
I've also started a Demon Hunter on Hardcore. She's taking some getting used to. The click to shoot causes some issues with repositioning because you have to click the baddie you want to shoot and occasionally I miss, thus I move and have to quickly correct it. Add in some lag skips and sometimes I appear to be having mini epileptic fits as I herk and jerk around the field. "No really, I've got this." *skipskip runs in circle.* "Damnit!" lol I'll get better at it eventually. That's all for now. Oh hey, a real treat for the ears is that Greg Ellis voices Knight Captain Cullen Rumford. Srsly everything that man says has my immediate attention. I also think I might possibly be hearing Gideon Emry - but that could just be wishful thinking filling in for what my ears would like to hear. lol
