wonder of wonders

Okay, before the real post I just have to say that I wrote this a couple weeks ago and I thought I lost it because I didn't save and then the computer was accidentally turned off and I wanted to cry because I had worked so hard on this and now here it is! (thus ends a gloriously long run on sentence, one to be proud of) I didn't know that livejoural did this like office word does but when I opened this page to make a post of stuff I have just written it asked if I wanted to restore...something...something, I said yes naturally and here is this thing that I thought was lost and would remain so until I trudged back through it and rendered it in a more secure place. I am very much in love with livejournal right now. You see earlier today I found that I had not properly sent my essay document to myself and that everything that I had spent about half and hour writing was gone. There was no recover button for that travesty and I had to resort to rewriting it. It turned out well I think but I was still bitter. And now this comes along to renew my faith in technology, word processors, and the internet in general. In short I am very pleased, and now onto what I wrote.

Here's some stuff that I wrote a little while ago along with new stuff that I just wrote....

"What did you tell her?" the young woman demanded sharply.
"Tell who?" Suiza was careful to keep her voice calm and nonchalant.
"Don't play dumb with me old woman! You know very well who I mean!"
Suiza had to concede. "Ah yes of course, that young woman with the soft hands how could I forget?" She did not need her sight to know that the lady before her was knitting her brows in exasperation.
"Well!?" she spat.
"What did I tell her?" Suiza was beginning to enjoy herself. "Her fortune my dear just her fortune. Pretty young things like her are always coming to me to learn their fortune. Romance, marriage, wealth..." she was cut off.
"We both know what you told her was far more than that. Tell me!" Suiza felt the young woman's power, like grasping arms, questing out for a place to take hold in her. In her mind she gently brushed them away. She could draw this out no further.
"I'm afraid I can't do that. You of all people should understand. I could no more tell you what I told her than I could stand on my head. The covenant will have what it will have, Elusah." For a moment she reveled in the effect of the young woman's name said aloud. It seemed that she might strike. But then Suiza could feel her check this and become calm once more. Her voice when she spoke was slick and derisive with her anger of a moment before totally in check.
"You. So set in your ways. Are you afraid of what might happen to you?"
Suiza shook her head. "No. I am old and my days I fear are few. That girl was my sign, you see. No, I'm not afraid for myself but for you."
"For me!? Foolish old woman. I don't need your pity." her words were radiant with pride. Suiza sighed, the truth of their situation suddenly so clear to her as it always was in times like these. "No, I'm afraid I'm too late. Long gone are the days when my warnings could have gained footing in you." Elusah turned away from her in a huff of disgust.
"I'm tired of this lunacy." Suiza reached out her hand and closed it around Elusah's just as she started to walk away.
"If you must leave, hear this first: that girl will not be brushed aside; she will not be made to give up like so many of the others that have stood in your way. Her resolve is equal to your and her talent is greater." The young woman shook her hand angrily.
“That’s ridiculous how could she possibly…” Suiza cut her off.
“Her power was given not taken.”
“How dare you acuse…” elusah’ words died in her throat as Suiza took her hand in her’s turning the palm up as if exposing a long hidden secret.
“My sisters blood on your hands tells me all I need to know.”

And here is something that has to come before this that I'm working on:

“Elusah, my dear is that you?” ---‘s voice, not more than a whisper, reached elusa’s ears as she stood at the opening of the priestess’s tent.
“Yes ---.” She took a few steps into the tent, still keeping her distance; readying herself.
“Tell me how your journey went. It has been many months since I last saw you.” She turned to face elusah showing her eyes dull wite like parched bone. Blindly she stuck out her hand and elusah met it with her own.
