made simple oven fries. recipe as follows: take 4 medium yukon gold or other waxy potatoes; cut them up in strips roughly 1/4 inch thick and 2-4 inches long (i quartered the potatoes, then cut the quarters into slices, then cut each slice in half crossways). Parcook them in microwave roughly 3-5 minutes (depending on the strength of your microwave; mine is high power and it only took 3 minutes). Then slosh in olive oil, 1 tsp paprika (i use hungarian paprika; you could certainly use regular. also i think a little smoked chili powder along with it would be awesome.) and 1 tsp garlic. (i have 'dehydrated' garlic we buy at
our spice shop. you could also use regular garlic, in which case chop it v. fine and use however much you like. (and yes, if you must, 'none' is also an option. because there's always someone that asks.) Mix everything together (use your hands! nature gave them to you!) and lay on baking sheet to cook in preheated 400F oven for roughly 20 minutes - until crispy. Kid Tested And Approved Of.
bought some music.
colors, by ken nordine (amazon mp3 link) is an awesome 'word jazz'/poetry album for not much. there's also some free jazz downloads
