newyork newyork what a wonderful town

Sep 28, 2009 00:47

i have had a marvelous weekend in new york with adularia, including but not limited to:
  • cheap and amazing dumplings and perfect sexy-nommy scallion veggie filled pancake
  • drinking perfect coffee with a lovely girl on a lovely early fall evening
  • window shopping around lower manhattan
  • the moma design store (design stores are FUN, especially with a design geek. i have a newfound love for them very similar to my newfound love for saint elsewhere that i discovered while staying with cindy_lou_who8)
  • slumber party
  • combing chinatown looking for bakeries which culminated in this croissant/palmier hybrid and the acquisition of mooncakes
  • five floor cheap art store (OMFG some amazing things - sun-sensitive paint! liquid sculpey clay! hundreds of sharpies!)
  • grand central station main concourse ARCHITECTURE
  • photo op in front of the main branch of the new york public library
  • japanese paper, stickers, books and stationery supplies (acquired: CUTEST CELLPHONE CHARM EVAR)
  • central park in the early evening as the streetlights were just coming on
  • random TARDIS sighting (pictorial evidence to come of course!)
  • italian food for dinner
  • chatting about art and planet earth dvds and weddings and families and penguins and many other wonderful things

tomorrow i have the day free and will hopefully be able to meet up with triedunture at some point, and with adularia after her late meeting. i want to go back to central park and find the zoo and hopefully the gay penguins therein, taking the bus, because while some parts of the subway are wheelchair accessible most of it is not and i am leery of braving it alone.

currently in search of wheelchair accessible tea or coffee place in midtownish to meet up around six tomorrow afternoon. can you think of one?

lj and twitter bankrupt beyond reasonable levels. if anything interesting, weird or cool has happened, let me know here, okay?
