the harvard ave collective brings fresh produce to the shores. I've gone past those tons of times and have wondered about them (they're about two blocks from my apartment building). I think the whole no-permits-required strip gardening thing is fantastic. alas bending is Not Safe For Phinnias these days. (lana_ftw, you might like this (from a soon-to-be-local thing, and a geography thing ... have you met mactavish? you're both into that stuff. you at least need to check out geographile ...)

canadian scientists breeding cows that burp less No, really. Not the Onion. This is an actual going concern, it's a global warming thing ... <3
new species discovered in waters off antarctica oooh. <3 these are so fabulous. i'll have to keep an eye on this project and its findings.
art project puts pianos on street see, this is awesome. (this for some reason makes me think of one of pwcorgigirl's fics - the one with the Williams Syndrome girl, deeper waters. you should read it. it's lovely)
