1. Spouse and I would like to take an Oregon Coast type vacation sometime in the fall - weekend, maybe 4 days depending on if/when we can get childcare. What's the easiest way to get there from Portland if one does not have a car? I've heard rumors of a bus from the Amtrak station but I don't remember specifics ( Read more... )

Assuming you only want to get to Seaside, there is, in fact, an Amtrak bus. Though I seem to recall that it only goes once a day in the evening (arriving after dinnerish).

There's also a bus to various other Oregon Coast towns like Florence, but that's much further south.

Dang, you'd think I'd have an answer on the coast question, but I've only ever driven there.

I have two Creative brand mp3 players, and like them both very much, but they are just for music. I lusted after a video one until I realized my Palm would play video with the right software.
