So here I am sitting at 2:30 in the morning, watching my uncle's windows bend and hearing debris hit the window. I bet I'm the only one with a live and breaking update of hurricane Frances as it happens!
Not as bad as they thought. Only one incidence of large debris (my little cousin's playhouse) hitting our door.
I tried watching the Exorcist today. Never managed to finish it. The power keeps going off long enough for everything to turn off and then come back on. It's nice to have power, but it's annoying!! Thank god for my Uncle's laptop.
Speaking of movies, I went on a movie-buying binge in the last few days. I bought Almost Famous, Crazy in Alabama, Red Dragon, Schindler's List, The 3 Exorcist movies, and I got a rain check for the 3 Jurassic Parks for $20 at Best Buy. Anyway, I guess God doesn't want me to see the end of the Exorcist. But how will I ever see the new one?? :::sigh:::
So, no offense to Sar or Phil or any of the other people who offered to put me up for the storm, I'm really glad I didn't leave. Sure, the wind here is making me a little nervous, but looking at this storm, we're not getting barely anything. Looks like after it goes through the gulf, Tally may get slammed because it'll have a chance to build up again. SOOOO, all of you who offered me a place to stay are welcome at mine for that part...if my place is still there. Good luck with the traffic.
I had a lot of fun with my family today. I introduced them to the wonder that is the Rat Pack ("Fucking Kennedys!!") My two younger cousins are actually really cool. My older one is...quick tempered, but still fun. It's weird, I can still see traits I noticed as a kid. Tonight we organized a whole box of stickers, so prepare for stupid presents!!!
Ok...I guess that's it for now (unless I get bored again tonight). Be safe everyone. Don't be one of those asses who goes walking on the beach. Stupid fucks.
.....
Oh yeah, my sister got married yesterday. Congrats to Mare and Matt...finally after 9 years. And I didn't even cry, awwww. :::tear:::
Side Note:I think it's eerie that my great-grandmother's name was Frances, and this hurricane showed up right for Mare's wedding, and has now randomly turned. Looks like she just wanted to be there for the party.
Oh yeah...again...pray (or do whatever you do) for my uncle. His bone marrow cancer came back and the tumor on his neck is wrapped around and artery and no surgeon in the country will touch it. It doesn't look good. He was one of my favorite uncles. Maybe that's another reason Big Momma is here. Thanks.
