Jeff officially leaves Tuesday morning. As part of the moving process, today was basically spent throwing a lot of old crap away to reduce the need for living space until he gets his own place. He's about as packratty as me, if not moreso. Thus, it was a slow but mildly entertaining (and bittersweet/sad at parts) process all of today. It's helping me cope with the situation and helping him out... two birds, one stone.
The highlight of course being at about hour 6, when he found 5 old disposable cameras. We went back to my place to pick up a camera I had but had forgotten about as well, so 6 total. Dropped em off for 1 hour development and picked em up after the processing and when we wanted another break. For him, each camera spanned approximately a year, and this was the first time he had seen these things and remembered these things long forgotten. It was a "knock your ass onto the floor" kind of nostalgia. My camera, of course, was apparently from Summer 03 (and so I'm thankful for the photos that did come out), the best one of course being from the 2am hike around the lake. Yay key staff week =P.
But, hey, highlight for Jeff at graduation: the girl next to him started up some conversation about where they're going and what they're doing.
(after talking for a while)
girl: "Oh, so you're a psych major. What do you think about me?"
Jeff: "*generic evaluation filled with crap he thought she wanted to here."
(more talking)
Jeff: So what was your emphasis?
girl: "Risk Management."
Jeff: "Would you say I'm high risk?"
(pause)
girl: "Yes, because you can't have relations with your clients."
Jeff: "Oh."
(silence.)
Gave it the ol' college try, and, yes, failed. What a way to go out!
