Day 7

Jul 07, 2008 08:17

I think I've been letting my nightly tea steep for a bit too long... suffice it to say, I haven't had to use the salt water flush for 2 days.

In addition to the giant list of benefits I made yesterday, let me add one thing I can't believe I forgot... the sleep. Man, I have been sleeping like a rock. Jeff too. I'm waking up naturally, with no alarms, HOURS earlier than usual, feeling well rested, and keeping my energy up throughout the day. This is such a big deal for me. I hope that continues when I'm off the cleanse.

Also, I had pointed out to me yesterday that my teeth are like a million shades whiter. To be fair, this is due to my excessive brush to get rid of the rancid breath I've been having, but hey... we takes what we can gets, right? One of the things I've been wanting to do, and decided I would do after the cleanse, was splurge on a good tooth whitening kit. Looks like now that will be unnecessary.

I think after this whole thing is over, I'm going to splurge a little. I'd like to get a light summer dress (that's right, bitches, a dress... I'm getting more and more girly in my old age) and I'm also going for a pedicure ASAP. One of those things I love, but don't feel right spending money on when there are more important/useful things to buy. But my new white-toothed, tight skinned, perky boobed, clear faced persona needs some nice pretty feet to go along with the rockin' hot bod.

I'm spending hours a day hunting down new recipes. I think it would probably be bad for most people to purposely concentrate on food during this whole thing, but for me, if I can think about and talk about it, I don't need to eat it as much. That, and I've been sniffing the soy sauce in my kitchen for a couple of days now. I've been reading about how your sense of smell has a lot to do with feeling satiated when you eat... basically, when you sit down for dinner, take a big whiff of what you're about to it. Sniff each bite before you put it in your mouth, and you get full faster. It's not like it costs money or takes much effort to smell your food, so why not try it?

I'm not going to lie... I can't wait to eat food. I've read so much about how your taste buds change on this diet, how after you can kind of train yourself to like foods you previously didn't. The idea being, if your new taste buds haven't been slathered in french fries and cheesecake, they'll enjoy a carrot much more. So, hopefully I'll be able to enjoy salad like never before, because I really hope to eat it for one meal a day from here on out. If I still don't enjoy it, I'm eating it anyway. Food is fuel for your body, and I never ask my car what flavor gas it wants, I just give it what it needs.

Well, Jefferton just got up and it's time to walk the dog. Yay for exercise. Then it's off to buy more dog food (we haven't been grocery shopping in over a week, so there's a few house items to pick up) and then to the chiropractor. Jeff is excited to tell him how much better he's feeling, and, bonus for me, the nurse in the office has me lay on a badass massage table while I wait, and gives me little massages when she gets a chance, just because I bring him. We both love chiropractor day! What's great is, today Jeff is going to talk to them about canceling his standing weekly appointment in lieu of a once a month or so, because he feels so much better. How awesome is that? Though I will miss my free massages...

ok kids, off to the races. Have a good one!
