110: Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Brown!

Jun 18, 2006 13:54

For those of you who were not aware, yesterday, June 17th, and 2 PM, Hester Rose Baldanza, and Douglas Allen Brown became husband and wife.

And for those of you who still don't know, that would mean my sister Hester got married.

The wedding was incredible, the church was gorgeous, and the reception was exhausting, but for her special day, this whole week's work and torture was worth it.

Monday: I worked from 3 AM to 9, as usual, and then had things to prepare for the wedding. This allowed me a grand total of 2 hours of sleep that night before work again.

Tuesday: Working from 3-10:30. Tuesday involved me preparing for the Arrival of ADAM! (3 hours of sleep.)

Wednesday: Work from 3-9. Gaming with Adam, Matt, and Bonnie. The first D&D game since they got back. This took about 5 hours, and we got to a good stopping point, and they're so close to level 3. *is so proud.* 3-4 hours of sleep this night.

Thursday: Work from 3-9 on my day off. Followed by final tux fittings at 5 PM, which I only got a nap in before it happened (2 pm-4:30pm) And afterwards, I had to putmy tux somewhere safe, and then take care of some things online. After that, I got 5 more hours of sleep, totalling 6.5 for this day.

Friday: Work from 3-9, then a short nap (45 minutes) before rehersal, and the rehersal dinner. I slept from 11:30-1:30AM after this and before work on saturday.

Saturday: Work from 3-9. Going home, showering, getting dressed for Hester's wedding, shaving carefully, (and way closer than I like). No sleep between work and Hester's wedding. None. The wedding was incredible, and kept me up until about 11 PM, when I had work (and a lot of it) set up for my OTHER day off this week, Sunday.

Sunday, 3 AM: I call off. Yes. Dylan called off. I slept from 11:30 PM, until 2 AM, then until 3 AM, then I called Derrick, one of the managers and explained my situation, he asked me to call again at 5:30 to see if they needed me. I called again, he said "You know... we'll be alright, you just get some sleep, okay buddy?"

My boss Josh? Never would've allowed that. Thank god Josh went on a short vacation.

I just woke up at 1:30 PM...

So, between monday and saturday I got about... 17.5 to 18.5 hours of sleep. Doctor recommended for 5 nights is 40 to 45 hours of sleep.

For my big sister's wedding? I'd have done the whole week on no sleep. She deserved the perfect day, and I think she did get it. I'd love to welcome Doug to the family, except he's been a member of the family for 3 years as far as I'm concerned. They were a perfect couple right from the day I met him, and I'm glad to have a brother like him in my family.

So that was my week... I was honored to be a part of it all, and I'd be willing to do it all over again. Pictures will be posted at some point, even the one they got of me dozing off in the wedding bus that took us to Lakewood Park and the Cleveland Museum of Art for pictures (I slept maybe 5 minutes on that bus, hence why I never counted it. 5 minutes does nothing as far as REM cycles are concerned.)

I'm hoping to get an e-mail from someone soon. One person who reads this knows who ^_^. If I could change one thing about the wedding? It'd be taking the e-mailer with me as a date.

A very (finally) rested insomniac,
-Dylan

PS: And this week I bought the first season of the muppets on DVD for my sister's wedding present, with 50$ stuck inside the sleeve. Also, I bought the Pippin DVD online (it comes within 2 weeks), the Pippin CD, Rent CD (no more illegal rent MP3's, just the legal kind!), The Eberron handbook (online) and a new Dungeon Masters Guide, since mine vanished long ago (online). Those both arrive with Pippin the DVD.
