After a friend reminded me of Johnathan Coulton's original songs, I looked him up on YouTube and these are the ones I recommend. These are definitely written for the techie/gamer/scifi Fan. Now my kids are singing them ( Read more... )

Yeah, those are very popular with the tech/geek crowd. The WoW footage ones are especially fun for me since I play.

Did you know that I have met him, and that he is friends with John Hodgman, aka "PC" in the Mac ads, and someone I went to HS with? OK, enough bragging.

Well, I know you used to play D&D with Hodgman, and that you went to Hodgman's book tour event, and that Coulton toured with Hodgman (They met at Yale)...so I kinda figured you had...besides...you know EVERYBODY.

I first heard Coulton's work when a filker at a scifi con did a rendition of Skullcrusher Mountain, but had no clue Coulton could perform as well as he does. I've seen video of him on stage generally having a good time. Cheers.
