Graduation.

Jun 03, 2007 21:02

I arrived at the high school around 2:35 PM, put my bag in my band locker, turned my cell phone off, got my clarinet and music.
We left, by school bus, sometime after 3 PM. It was about a 20 minute ride.
During that ride, I tried to think as little about what I was riding to as possible. I thought about it a lot anyway.
We entered campus, and I started to think about band camp, because MSU always makes me think about band camp. I thought about all the times we'd had with the band seniors (which are most of the seniors that I know).
We pulled into the parking lot, and Sarah got on our bus for about five seconds, then I walked down with her to all the other graduates. It was raining slightly, and she was whining about having no place to stash her food. ;) (FYI: She found a place later on - her hat.)
I set my case down in the storage room and went to find people to give them hugs and have a minor freak out.
We walked out and sat down. I actually got a good seat this year.
We played Processional about 8 times.
It was kind of hard to hear the speeches, but then again, it always is.
The senior video was pretty funny, especially the pictures of the band seniors in togas at camp.
I cheered and clapped when they got their diplomas.
We played Recessional 2 or 3 times.
I walked out, put my clarinet away, took a picture with Bridgette, and led everyone back to the buses. (Hardly anyone played graduation last year.) I sat down, and realized what I had just left.

It hasn't truly hit me yet, mostly because I'm not letting it. I still have to hold through this week, through review and exams and catching up on Script Frenzy.

This year has been so awesome.
I'll follow you into the dark.
