Bellatrix/Ms. Zabini: I'm really into bookverse!Bellatrix, with her insanity born of passionate devotion (she seemed a little too randomly creepy in the movies to me). As for Ms. Zabini, I know she only exists in the books and only for like two lines, but we know she's gorgeous and that her husbands keep dying "mysteriously" and that was enough to pique my interest. :) My headcanon for Ms. Zabini has her down as kind of languidly psychotic, very charming and collected and methodical and ruthless. I like that contrast with Bellatrix's way over-the-top farthest-thing-from-languid psychosis. But that's my headcanon, as stated, so if you have another idea go right ahead -- if you like it I'm sure I will too. :)
Helena Ravenclaw/OFC: I think Helena's being drawn to women fits in well with her rejection of the Bloody Baron and of all other men. I like how she's snotty and superior and yet I can see her being really passionate, throwing-reason-away-for-love once she's fallen for someone. Wrt the OFC and the plot, do whatever you will. :)
HUNGER GAMES
Johanna/OFC: I love Johanna, her badass-ness and her underlying pain and how it has made her hard and disassociated from people. I really like the line in Catching Fire where she says "there's no one left that I love." My headcanon is that she had a girlfriend/partner that the Capitol took from her, but go where you will with it. The thing that interests me most about the idea of Johanna with someone is the idea of her really loving someone/taking that emotional risk, because we don't see that side of her in the books and yet I really feel that it must have been there at some point.
Foxface/OFC: I'd like to see more of Foxface and her brilliance and slyness. A girlfriend/relationship pre-Games could be interesting.
Foxface/Katniss: The ways in which these two are different -- Katniss' willingness to fight and put herself on the line versus Foxface's sly evasion -- could make this an interesting pairing, I think. I love both of their characters in the books.
Clove/OFC: I'd like to see Clove loving someone pre-Games while still being passionate and ruthless and kind of crazy.
Cashmere/Glimmer: These two were put in the Games for basically the same reason, I think, and I always imagined Cashmere as Glimmer's mentor. Cashmere's obviously a better competitor than Glimmer, though, or she wouldn't have won. I picture her as smarter and colder than Glimmer, but obviously do what you will.
Prim/Rue: I can't think of any non-AU way to do this, but I love both of these characters and, again, their similarities and differences (Rue being more adventurous/less shy) make the pairing interesting to me.
DISNEY PRINCESSES
Merida/Belle: This differences/similarities thing is becoming a well-worn theme in this letter! Merida is so badass and puts everything right out there, while Belle is more reserved, but not exactly shy. This is more of a "cute" pairing than the others I've listed, but I'm not into *total* fluff. Pretty fluffy is fine though. :)
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES
Katherine/Bree: This is my classic pairing -- I was obsessed with this back in the day. Usually I don't think people who are too much like one another pair very well, but this is the exception and there is SO much slashy subtext in season 4, I'm crazy about it. The hurt/comfort dynamic seems like it could work in a whole bunch of ways here, from Katherine's abusive past {something I've always been interested in seeing/reading more about) to Bree's alcoholism to Katherine's psych hospitalization.*
*Though her description of the psych ward to Robin later on is suuuuper melodramatic and annoying and I tend to pretend it never happened. There's a far better account of what a psych ward's actually like at http://lauriekramer.com/psychward/ . (The ward letting her keep her shoelaces was an unusual move though.)
Bree/Renee: We're back to me being into a pairing that I love because the characters are so different. I'd rather this happen at a time when Bree is not drinking and has all of her prim faculties pulled together, but I would be happy as well if they hooked up while Bree was in her last-season period of hooking up with everyone (more than one girl would be awesome!) and then found that the thing with Renee meant a little more to her than the rest. Or Renee found herself feeling that way and Bree blows her off. Or... anything you like. The excellence of the characters is enough to carry this through.
Katherine/OFC: I'd like to see Katherine with someone besides Robin -- maybe someone she met in Paris? Maybe a psych ward roommate? (I kind of have this thing about psych ward romances.) Or someone she met when she was still fucked up about Wayne, maybe newly out of the relationship or something. Or, as always, anything you want!
SONGCATCHER
Elna/Harriet - Oh, dear, femslash12 reader, I am like 99.98% sure you have never seen this movie. I only know like two people who have besides the people I have forced to watch it with me. It is a movie about a female musicologist in 1907 who goes into the Appalachian mountains to learn/collect their versions of the Scots-Irish ballads that are part of their heritage. It's less boring than it sounds, but there are plenty of melodramatic moments (which I find funny and entertaining, but maybe you won't.) BUT the thing is there are VICTORIAN LESBIANS and OH I love the Elna/Harriet pairing so much. They are so lovely and adorable. I love their social progressivism in starting a school in the poorest of Appalachia and in Harriet's writing articles about child labor laws (SO NERDY AND AWESOME) and they're just so ridiculously cute together. For years I have wanted a fic either about how they met/got together or about what happens to Harriet after the movie ends and what becomes of their relationship in the time after the movie. (There is an interpretation of the end of the movie which could answer both of these questions and I'm curious as to whether you'll interpret it that way or not.) At any rate, Songcatcher is available on DVD through Netflix. Still, I know that it's very unlikely that I will get fic for this movie, and that is totally fine because I love every pairing I have given you for every single fandom. Seriously. I will love anything you write for me. Yay for femslash12!
