- Philomythulus has managed to make his iPad say 'I'd like a slice of cake please'. I'm all in favour of him learning communication skills. But he's requested a slice of cake approximately 5000 times in the past hour, and I don't have any cake and he can't have cake right now anyway because it's bedtime. But he really wants that cake. Occasionally he asks for a cappucino or what the soup of the day is, suggesting he hasn't quite got to grips with the new communication software he's playing with. Though he does enjoy eating the froth off the top of a cappucino when he gets the chance.
- The Guardian style guide. Endless fun to read. At least, endless fun if you're me. I like their take on the subjunctive and the split infinitive, and those are good metrics of whether I'll like a style guide. I found it when trying to determine whether it was 'home straight' or 'home strait' earlier today, and got sucked in.
http://www.theguardian.com/guardian-observer-style-guide-s - rereading 'Rivers of London' gives me a powerful urge to eat Battenberg cake. Peter seems to eat it a lot in the books, and it's full of sweet almondy goodness. But as I mentioned, I don't have any cake. My life is so hard.
- Cub is trying to dance. Whenever there's music on, he stomps around rhythmically and waves his arms. If I join in he immediately starts copying what I do. It really is the cutest thing I've ever seen.
