Fic: The Nature of Kings
Something about late, and a dollar? This was a fic for Tel for Winterfair 2010-11. Obviously that didn't work out, but it's done at last, and I hope you like it! I'm afraid it's not desperately slashy, but I couldn't get the story to work any other way.
Quite a few people helped with the beta-reading on this one, at various stages. Avantika, Ailis_fictive, Cahn: so many thanks to all of you for reading through this and poking holes and coming up with suggestions. An awful lot of the good ideas came from them. All the mistakes came from me :-).
Title: The Nature of Kings
Prompt: Plotty Aral/Galeni slash, with all the issues that both of them bring to the table regarding Komarr and Imperium and daddy issues and bisexuality, etc. I would prefer this fic set entirely within the Barrayaran masculine sphere.
Length: 17,000 words
Content: violence, colonial issues, mystery
Summary: The Prime Minister makes a visit to Komarr while Galeni is posted there, and the political becomes personal for them both.
