You don't stand alone. Does that make it better? I don't know if it does. But yes, the blue blue blue!!!!! I know having a 21yr old son that the younger generation thinks differently and it gives me SO SO much hope. You know the funny part about it is he grew up with gay moms and a feeling of openness being the norm and doesn't really understand what a big deal it is. He was born after Ellen came out on her TV show, he just can't imagine what things were before. It's kind of like explaining to him what things were before cell phones and the internet. He currently lives on campus in a suite with two straight boys, one gay and his boyfriend (who "unoffically lives there), and a lesbian. It's like a sitcom in the making. It warms my heart it does.
So much change has happened relatively quickly. Take heart in that. Change is not just coming it is actively happening and I know this seems like a cement wall halting everything and then destroying it I don't believe that will happen. I just don't. I guess I believe in people. I believe that living my life open and honest will make a difference. In fact I know that it has. It's what I choose to do for "the cause".
