i better be quiet now
So I just found out that Jensen is singing a cover of "Angeles" on Steve Carlson's new album. You can listen to a snippet here.
On one hand, I'm happy that we get to hear Jensen sing some more. But, one the other (quite a bit larger and, yes, this is metaphorically speaking, as I'm not that disproportionate) hand, it's Elliott.
We're talking near-sacred territory here.
I... I'm not sure I want to hear the full song. Yeah, I said it.
ETA: I should add that I don't hold any negative feelings toward Jensen for choosing the song. In fact, I respect and like him more for liking the song enough to want to cover it. There's just that bit of extra sensitivity when it comes to Elliott Smith for me. That said, I do like the Decemberists' cover of "Clementine" and both Glen Phillips' and the Civil Wars's cover of "Between the Bars" (although Glen started performing that cover back when Elliott was still alive which, somehow, makes a difference).
In other news, I have scratches on my glasses that are very noticeable when I wear them. Gonna see if my optometrist is open tomorrow and if the scratches are shallow enough to be buffed out.
In other news (oh, so much news), I'm still playing catch up. Sorry. :/
