✽ Holy crap. I can't believe Corey Haim died. :( I remember having such a crush on both the Coreys back in the 80s. Lucas and License to Drive stand out especially.
✽ Oscars were so boring I decided to watch dvds instead. But congratulations to Ryan Bingham for winning Best Song! (Jesusfuck, he's pretty.)
✽ Yesterday, I drove to work with the window rolled down. Glorious! Amazing to think that only a few weeks ago we were shoveling three feet of snow just to get to our cars.
✽ Today and tomorrow I'm cashing in my leftover vacation hours from last year and enjoying some time off. So far today I've been a lazy fuck, sleeping in past noon (possible explanation for my current headache, i.e. too much sleep). Planning to use the time off to step up my job search (status: quite depressing), edit some poetry that's been sitting around and see Alice in Wonderland.
✽ I loved this week's LOTR-themed episode of The Big Bang Theory. It's been awhile and the intense infatuation with all things LOTR has quietly faded into a saner adoration. But that made me very nostalgic, besides being hilarious. Sheldon makes a surprisingly good Gollum. And, of course, Leonard is very hobbit-like. Also, I love when they play up the homoerotic tension between Wolowitz and Koothrappali-although the cuddling also reminded me of the hobbits clinging to each other for comfort. Which... to many people was homoerotic, so. Hee.
✽ Would it be considered bad form to tweak a piece of fanfiction and submit it to a literary journal for publication as original fiction?
