Patrick McGoohan died. :( I can't recall if I ever saw him in anything other than Braveheart and The Prisoner. But I loved The Prisoner. It was trippy and beautiful and mad and mod. And it managed to make a giant white beach ball actually seem menacing. It's weird, I was just randomly thinking about the show earlier today, and then I stumble upon that news....
* Recently, I rented Wonderfalls. And fell instantly in love with it. In fact, at this time, I would like to officially declare my love for Bryan Fuller. As if Pushing Daisies isn't amazing enough, now I've seen what else he's capable of and am very impressed and completely smitten with his brilliant brain. (What I've seen of Dead Like Me is pretty darn good too.) Now if only someone would allow Bryan to see one of his creative projects through to the very end. The man has a cancellation curse. (Or, perhaps, television mostly sucks and studios have it in for imaginative and truly original programming?) Also, I'm still not happy about him returning to Heroes. I abandoned that ship, and now I feel obligated to swim back and climb aboard again just because of him (and Swoosie Kurtz). Well, if anything, maybe writing for Heroes will help him earn more money so he can save up for a Pushing Daisies movie. *shrugs*
Oh, and I have to share this quote from one of the Wonderfalls episode commentaries:
Bryan Fuller on Lee Pace: "He is John Cusack and Nicholas Cage merged together in one big, tall cup of sex."
HEE. *draws hearts around them both*
(Although, Nicholas Cage doesn't quite work for me. Can we cross that out and insert "Jimmy Stewart" instead? Because Lee often reminds me of him. He's got that classic, timeless presence. Besides being tall, talented and handsome.)
* It looks like we're getting Jason Manns at the NJ Con. :) I wish we could get Steve Carlson as well (*is greedy*), but it is a smaller convention after all. So, it looks like the line up will be Jared, Misha, Charles Malik Whitfield (Victor Henriksen), Traci Dinwiddle (Pamela the Eyeless Psychic), Richard Speight (The Trickster), and Jason Manns for our musical enjoyment. Not too shabby. I don't know if they'll add anyone else... although I'd love if we got Gabe. He's so damn adorable. I'd also love Samantha Ferris, but this is a Creation event, so there's no chance there. Okay, and I'd also love Jensen. Oh, I'd "love" him all right. But... you knew that.
* New SPN tomorrow! Hooray! Winchesterday is back!
* Eee! I just saw a promo on tv for Flight of the Conchords! Yet also boo, as I suck and do not have HBO.
