Alice In Chains - "Rooster"

From tonight's SPN.

Which I enjoyed muchly... even more so than usual because I got to watch it live. But, man, there was so much unfulfilled innuendo potential.

Next week looks intense. *bites nails*

With this and the gloomy, chillier weather and having watched Derek Jarman's The Tempest ( Read more... )

Totally off topic...I deleted last night's House and shouldn't have...I meant to check the music. Did you happen to notice who did the song that was played during the time the girl was dying? It sounded a LOT like Matthew Ryan, and I'm dying to know if it was. Do you know of a place that tells that kind of thing?

Good show, too...it was good to see them NOT save someone for a change.

According to Tune Find it was indeed Matthew Ryan... "Follow the Leader."

I agree. It's always good to see them at their most human and most fallible. That's what makes the show for me: the realness of the main characters, with the weekly formula playing second fiddle to their continuing stories and interplay. And Omar just nailed it. He wins the gold star for the night. :)

Ahh, I was right! Thank you!!! It was a fitting song, and his voice has that moodiness and sadness that was perfect for that part of the story. I'm thrilled for Matthew! :)

And yes, Omar was incredible. And I'm still loving the exchanges between Cameron and CutiePie....erm, I mean Chase. :) Though I wish she'd lighten up and give in. :)

*nods*

I love how they've twisted things around, with Chase wanting something serious and Cameron pulling fast away from that prospect. And I love that she's gotten so sharp and ballsy. But maybe they'll have those two come together eventually... after a good bit of dramatic tension. ;)

I really should have a ducklings icon....

I love it when they go grunge on SPN. ;)

And yes, what a great ep! Finally, another scary one! (I definitely got scared there in the beginning.) But I also laughed so hard. Definitely worth a few repeat viewings.

Hee. Interesting coincidence that the prison was named Green River too (albeit in a different state).

But I also laughed so hard.

*nods* Dean was in top form. Even though I enjoyed the silliness of "Hollywood Babylon," it was great to have a proper chill-inducing episode (and the prison created a nice trapped, claustrophobic setting). Plus, the boys looked damn hot in their jumpers. Mmmm, arms.

It's funny, because I know it's not what they were going for, but when I heard the opening strains of the song I thought of David Sedaris' brother, the one he calls The Rooster. If you're not familiar with Me Talk Pretty One Day, he explains that his brother is called The Rooster because "You can't kill the motherfuckin' rooster, man! You can maybe mess him up a little bit but you can not! Kill! The motherfuckin' rooster!" And I laughed, a little, because it's appropriate. And Dean could, I guess, in another life, have been a pretty convincing redneck.

You know, even though I love David Sedaris, I don't remember that. *pokes brain* But I can imagine him saying it.

And Dean could, I guess, in another life, have been a pretty convincing redneck.

LOL Just swap out the leather jacket for a plaid one and an orange vest....

Yay indeed! I might never have known about it were it not for your post a while ago. So thank you! It's wild and brilliant. Heathcote has got to be the most perfect Prospero I've ever seen. :)
