music, magic, movies and miscreants... maybe

* I had these uploaded for a music community, so I thought I'd put them up here too. Though... I think everyone and their Aunt Mildred knows Neutral Milk Hotel by now, right? Literate indie rock of the fantasically mad, quirky variety. I could not love Jeff Mangum more.

Neutral Milk Hotel - "Naomi"

Neutral Milk Hotel - "Two-Headed Boy"

*An HP rec: "A Million Generations Removed From Expectations" - anonymous author - a gen. Neville fic set post-HBP in which Neville works on a plant for metamorphosing and contemplates membership into the Order of the Phoenix. But the plot is secondary to the understated and beautifully rendered writing, the emotive cocktail of endings and beginnings.

*Saw Kingdom of Heaven last night. I didn't think it was that bad, particularly for an epic... I remember hearing complaints. The jerky, quick motion camera work during the fight sequences irritated me. Thewlis wasn't in it nearly enough. Orli did a pretty decent job, besides being pretty. But I have to be honest: the mere concept of him having a greater role than Jeremy Irons in a movie just strikes me as wrong. I mean, it's Jeremy Irons. The man doesn't belong in a minor role; it doesn't fit him.

Marton Csokas does the bad guy thing very well. There was one scene in which he stuck a knife in someone that-while, yes, evil-was downright delicious. :)

Also, WTF? Edward Norton??

But but... there's one thing that confused me: when the Haradrim sieged on Jerusalem, where were the Orcses?

*Prison Break is new tomorrow night, correct? *bounces*

*Also, we need new Dom photos. Aren't people taking pictures of him anymore? Other than the paparazzi... which is fine, but I want something pretty and shiny and glossy and new. Close up. Clothing optional.
