I'm convinced...

...that men and women are simply incompatible. The "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" thing makes more sense to me now than ever - and it's not like I ever considered that a foreign concept, either.

It's too obvious now )

Phil, I get, feel and understand your frustration and anger... true, there are plenty of triffin' ass men and women out ther. However, if that is what you focus on and believe that is what you are going to continue to attract -- until you retreat in bitterness rather than bother anymore.

Also please consider: in each scenario you spoke on the common denominator is you. So rather than see these experiences through cynism perhaps it serves you better to see this is your wake up call -- take a good look at your behavior and take some time off for some introspection and change (within yourself) -- meanwhile knowing that as you go through this process you are preparing yourself for your future mate. (via books, CDs, etc that focus on the POSITIVE aspects of male/female relationships and how to bring that into your life)

Now since you sound like your mind is made up, I don't know if this will jibe with you at all... which is also understandable, but also a damn shame since you have so much to offer a woman and in a relationship.

However, if you want to remain alone (and I'm willing to bet you do not) continue doing what you have been doing, knowing things will never change... and they won't....

Or to break it down like Dr. Phil says when people complain about a situation yet defend their behavior and are unwilling to change/address new behavior. . . how's that workin' for ya?

... excuse my typos in my previous... and Phil, this comment was by no means an attack on you because quite honestly I agree with what you said as one would have to deaf, dumb and blind not to notice the horrid state of affairs between American men and women.

My point in writing you is this: we can't control or do anything about others behavior, but we can do something about our own and attacting the love we want. If we consider it (to love and be loved) worth fighting for, and I don't know about you, but I sure do. (Which is why I am doing exactly what I mentioned to you above about taking time off and changing my behavior, etc).

This is very sound advice. I wholeheartedly agree knowing Phil for a long while on-line, caring about him and only wanting him to be happy. I also especially agree with this part:

"Now since you sound like your mind is made up, I don't know if this will jibe with you at all... which is also understandable, but also a damn shame since you have so much to offer a woman and in a relationship."
