I think kamikaze girls speak to this group of individuals who are one thing on their level, another on the grand level. In a recent conversation about 'emo' kids we discussed that they most likely came from upper middle class, or middle middle class, never lower that that. They have the time and lack of real problems to worry about what they think their problems are. These kamikaze girls also represent a station in life privileged enough to leisurely smoke a cig in a video on youtube, buy that next pack.
