taking a break to ignore going over lab worksheet results

Feb 09, 2009 13:18

In the absence of other major sports early yesterday (Pro-bowl and the PGA hadn't started broadcasting yet) I turned the tv to the Alpine Skiing world Championships.
This started a big discussion on it since Robbie was there and he'd just come back from a week at Breckenridge (Sharon is there this week).
They've been getting great deals on huge condos for only $120/night which broken down amongst their group turned into a weeklong stay for something like $$100 for the entire week.
I told them that I'd rent out the ski-in mountain condo if everyone wanted to find their own transportation (a 12 hour drive is always fun when caravaning).
Response was very enthusiastic.  J/O ski but have scaredy cat kids when they were younger; I can teach them easily on a much bigger green hill like at Keystone.  Vic loves skiing and her kids are daredevils who would love to let loose.
This might actually happen.  This is especially easy considering outside being in the Sunny Breezy 60's today (sitting here with the sliding door wide open and the front windows allowing a temperate mariah to flow throughout and about).  Talking people into ski weeks is more difficult when bearing single digits.
I was going to go regardless; I'm not used to skiing with people anyway.
I've got the bug.
The trip planned for later in the year is still Chicago.
This might be the year of travel.

**UPDATE**  2:38pm
...and I don't want to change your life; but that warm wind blowin the stars around....
is becoming  a whirling whipping gale.
Forget Colorado, I might end up lifted off my concrete pad and sailed into the Blue Ridge like those little eskimos when the storm hit in Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer.
Since when is tornado season in Feb?
