Knit-Along News

Time to start a new Knit-Along! It looks like dozens of savvy knitters are
going to have some good-looking felted Double-Handle Project Bags! We're
gathering on Wednesday, March 15 from 6-9pm. As always, there's no charge to
participate - we just ask that you call the store to register and buy your
materials at the store. Our Spring Knit-Along, the mysterious and beautiful
"Lace Something" starts May 17, and we already have people signed up. Stop
by the store to see the beauteous sample we have all knitted and blocked and
beautiful.

St Patrick's Day Celebration

Stop by the store on Friday, March 17 to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with
us! Selected yarns with an Irish theme will be on sale. Who knows what
you'll find in the pot of gold?

Charity Yarn Donations Sought

We've been contacted by Antonietta D'Addio of the American Cancer Society
looking for yarn donations to support their Relay for Life event on May 20
and 21, 2006. This events raises money by selling or raffling products at
the Fairgrounds in Woodstock, Connecticut - all of the proceeds are
contributed to the American Cancer Society. Antonietta is looking for
donations of yarn in the colors of the various cancer ribbons (i.e. pink for
breast cancer, teal for ovarian cancer). Please contact Antonietta for a
full list of colors needed and more information at
antonietta.daddio@uphs.upenn.edu

Spring Yarns Coming In Every Day! Bag Accessories here!

C'mon, it's not too early to start thinking about yummy summer projects.
We've already received a lot of beautiful spring yarns - cotton, bamboo,
tencel, ribbons. Also, in response to the popularity of our Noni Bag
patterns, we've gotten a lot of cool handles in cool colors (they look like
Bakelite!), and purse feet (you know, those little stubby things that make a
purse stand up on its own), and magnetic snaps.

Attention! The Tangled Web will be closed on Sundays after March 26.

Tip of the Month
When working in the ends of slippery yarns like cotton or novelty yarns, use
a pointy metal darning needle to go THROUGH a stitch. You can also work in
the ends of laceweight yarns or in a lace pattern with a needle and sewing
thread.

See you at the Web!
