This weekend I'm going to friend's father's house. We call it Camp Poppy. We camp out in the back yard and it's nice. It's not exactly real camping, but still fun. Last night I spent almost four hours making shrimp cocktail, broccoli salad, and German Potatoe Salad. It's my first time making the German Potatoe Salad, so I hope it came out ok. After hours of chopping and cooking my kitchen was a mess. I spent last night and this morning cleaning up all the dishes and the kitchen itself. This morning I've also been packing and doing laundry. After an almost Autumn like August, it's now hot and muggy again. Oh Joy. Last year I left early and didn't get to do any trap shooting, so I'm really looking forward to doing that this weekend. We also play washers and badminton, and Poppy also has a pool.
Mish-Mash Update
The past few weekends have been pretty busy. I helped out at Redhead Fangirl's Mid-Jersey Comicon. It was a lot of fun as usual. Then was Joey's (my baby brother) BD party. He's now 9 yo. Where is the time going? The other week I went to Jen's house for our usual Friday night hanging out session. We played WiiFit, which is so much fun. I was Wii-Sore for days, but I'm happy to report that my WiiFit age is 32. Whoo Hoo! Last weekend was a bridal shower. RHF and I drove out together, our mutual friend is getting married in October. RHF brought their GPS with her and I drove. I kept yelling at the GPS when it was trying to get me to go a way I didn't want to go (basically through North Philly, not a good area). Finally when we were out of the city I decided to let the GPS guide me and it made me get on Rt 309, which is not my favorite road. So I yelled at it again and told it I wouldn't have followed it's directions if I knew it was going to put me on that road. RHF was cracking up. Last Sunday was spent cleaning and relaxing. This past week I've been working in the field, so I've been pretty MIA. Lot's of early mornings and coming home dirty and tired, so I basically just showered and read a little before going to bed early. I've been reading John Adams. I finally finished Atlas Shrugged and decided to pick up John Adams again. I started reading it years ago, but put it down when I started to get bored (when Adams was in Amsterdam). I want to watch the mini-series but decided to finish the book first. It's been good and has picked up, since that one boring spot. It's pretty interesting to read about all the true politics that went on at the time. Not exactly what they taught us in grade school, or maybe I just don't remember that part.
Well, that's all that's been going on with me. Work, reading, and social weekends. Hope everyone has a great weekend and that everyone at D*C has a great time.
