I was supposed to help a friend pack her apartment tonight, in preparation for her move to her new condo. However, she is not ready to pack, so we cancelled.

While I am tempted to laze about on my couch, since I had prepared myself for some cleaning and organizing, I am instead going to tackle my closet and my bookshelves. My goals will be:

1. Set aside clothing I haven't worn in 6-12 months for donation/consignment
2. Set aside books I don't plan to re-read for donation/sale

If anyone on the friendslist is planning to make a Goodwill type run in the next few weeks and is willing to let my vehicularly impaired self tag along, please let me know! I can also recommend some local organizations who can accept clothing items.

I need to research some book donation/sale options. Books for America will take soft cover books in good condition, and they are at 22nd & P, so I can get there way easily. Looks like they also might take DVDs, if I ever decide to thin those out.

Some of you on the flist work at DC non-profits, do your organizations need books?

Capitol Hill Books might be an option for me to unload some of the hardcover books.
