I did make it to the gym this morning! Miracle of miracles. I was a bit confused when my alarm went off--I heard Elliot in the Morning and my first thought was "Who are you, and why are you in my apartment and talking to me???" But up I got, and to the gym I went. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical, x-train aerobics (forwards and backwards, etc.). I forgot that the older machines include the cool down in the total workout time (the newer machines tack it on at the end), so that's why I went 30 and not 35. The gym was fairly crowded when I got there, but somewhat empty when I left. If I want a treadmill, I may have to time it slightly earlier or later.
Total minutes for January are 237. New workout mix worked swimmingly--Rage Against the Machine came on just when I needed a push.

I also have not had coffee yet today, in an attempt to dial down the caffeine. Let's see how this goes.
Last night, in an attempt to catch up for Oscar season, I watched
Away From Her. I guess you could say this is The Notebook for smart people. ;) Julie Christie was excellent, and I liked the script. The direction didn't really elevate above good TV movie competency (sorry, Sarah Polley). But it was good, and I thought it did a great job of depicting what Alzheimers can be like for families.
I picked up
Run again and it just took a weird twist that I'm not sure I'm buying into, but whatever.
And I think I'm getting that coffee now. Hey, I did get up almost two hours earlier than normal. I'm not a superhero. ;)
