I am pretty tired. I am on day #7 without a day off, and have to go until friday before I have time I can call my own. sigh- I am pretty sure I am not going to make it. ...ok, I will. I am being dramatic.

As a side to this, I think alix is sick again. She is starting to have nose issues, is eating less, and is kind of tired again. Just not herself ( Read more... )

Our dog, an all white mini-schnauzer named Sugar is on "hospice" she was in the hospital for a very expensive week late last year for pancreas problems, bad problems. She's an older dog about 9yrs now and we choose not to put her through all the medical hoopla to maybe have a favorable outcome. Plus we can't afford the money associated with it. Every penny we spend on a "maybe" outcome for Sugar takes away from money the kids need for something. We have to feed her a diet only consisting of boiled rice and chicken or she'll have flare ups. Do what you can for your doggy and when it's her time it's her time...

thanks Jack. you are right on. Alix is only 6 so that makes it abit harder, but you speak the truth. I know it, just need to be reminded of it.

Even when Alix has not been herself I think she has been clearly glad to be with you guys and keeping as much of her routine as she can...even if that means that sometimes she hangs out upstairs and doesn't bother running down the steps to bark at/greet whomever comes in the door. I can't imagine her having to go through surgery or something like that...I think that she will fare the best when she gets to stay with you guys and just do her thing. She is such a creature of habit, you know?

Hopefully she'll do well back on the homeopathic stuff. And, hey, you always have a dog sitter who doesn't mind cleaning up bloody noses.

Hope you survive til Friday--it would be a real bummer if you didn't.
