Govinda's Vegetarian, Philadelphia's premier vegetarian restaurant, is seeking experienced grill cooks and cashiers for various FT and PT positions available immediately, due to our business growth and plans for expansion.
Qualified candidates for the grill cook position will have a minimum of 2-3 years experience working in a fast paced, short-order environment. Expertise in preparing various vegetarian and vegan sandwiches and dishes--particularly knowledge of soy based products and "faux" meats--is highly desirable, though not required. We will gladly train the best candidate, vegetarian or not, as long as they are skilled. Candidate must be detail-oriented, able to be sensitive to the specific dietary needs of our vegan and vegetarian clientele, well-groomed and possess stellar food prep and cleanliness practices.
Qualified candidates for the cashier position will have a minimum of 1-2 years experience working in a fast paced environment. In addition to excellent cash handling skills, we're searching for enthusiastic, vivacious, friendly individuals who can provide excellent customer service, upsell, educate our customers--vegans, vegetarians and non-vegetarians--about our various products and demonstrate a positive attitude that will encourage repeat business. Responsibilities will also include assisting grill cook with food preparation, light lifting of inventory, restocking of display cases and general cleaning. Knowledge of vegan and vegetarian items desirable but not required. We will train the right person, as long as they have personality and are able to expertly represent our restaurant as our customer's first point of contact.
