they say they are, but i'm very suspicious.

particularly because the smoothies are sweetened with honey. what else might they think is vegan, and in fact isn't?

the carrot tuna is oddly delicious though. strange, but fascinating.

Not all of it is vegan though... their creamy corn soup has egg in it.

I actually prefer Adobe Cafe to Cantina. It's a few blocks away but they have 2 full pages on their menu dedicated to vegan food. FYH cheese, vegan sour cream, Ray's seitan, tofu dishes, enchiladas, tacos, burritos of many varieties, sandwiches (seitan tip!!), chimichangas, nachos, etc etc etc.

There is a location in Manyunk and one in South Philly as well.

Really? I've heard really bad things about Adobe Cafe, which is why I haven't gone.

Perhaps I'll try it next time!

Adobe is great and not-so-good. Here's all you need to know:

Good:
1. Seitan galore and it's good (appetizers, main dishes, etc.)
2. Free chips and salsa (that's not standard at Mexican restaurants anymore, sadly)
3. In South Philly, the place is NEVER busy (the two times I went there were at 6:30 PM on Friday night and lunch on Saturday afternoon, so take what you will...)
4. Very friendly service

Not-so-good:
1. They do NOT use FYH cheese and ultimately, no cheese for vegans.

Overall, I support this place because I think if it doesn't get more business, it might shut down and another vegan option will be lost :-)
