Two days ago, I held a human brain in my hand. It was awesome! There it was, the prefrontal cortex, Werneke’s area, the cerebellum (which kind of looks like a scrotum with large testicles hanging dorsal to the brain stem). My finger was only centimeters from dorsal lateral geniculate nucleus, in all its optic tract receiving glory. The professor and I pondered whether the smooth bulbs visible in the ventral anterior part of the brain were the amigdalae or the ends of the hippocampus. It was a truly brain-geektastic experience, like meeting the members of your favorite band.
