Update Omnibus
So, a few weeks (a month?) ago a friend asked me: "what _has_ been going on in your life? school/work/love/fam/drugs/alcohol/rocknroll"
With the realization that my LiveJournal has been rather sparse for some time, I've edited my long response to him, and submitted it below, in case anyone else was curious.
- not very much, to be honest...
- school & work... graduated college (finally) in May '08, & the temp position I'd been working ended around the same time
- temp agency hasn't placed me anywhere since, and my efforts to find a job haven't been going well... for some reason people seem skittish about hiring... cant imagine why... *shrug*
- i want to/plan to go to grad school to get a Master in Architecture, but i need to study for (and take) the GRE, and apply
- would've done so already, but the lack of a job means i am broke, and i want to have debt completely paid before I move anywhere
- (fresno doesn't offer M.Arch)
- so I am putting it on hold til next year so that I can hopefully get a job, pay off debt, and save up enough to move to SF or LA, wherever I can get into school
- love... haven't had much more than a few isolated encounters over the past year or so
- was interested in a couple guys, but they proved logistically difficult (since i live @ home) or they were too immature
- so, meh... when i get a job it'll be easier on that front; i can just see people before and/or after work. as it is now, i hardly leave the house, unless I go out of town
- (i did a lot of that this summer - going out of town, that is... it was fun, but it made me even more broke than I already was :s heh)
- family... well, i am an uncle now :) My older sister had a baby girl named Kaylee in October, the first grandchild for my parents
- drugs... I tried weed for the first time this summer. it was meh :p *shrug*
- took a lot for me to feel anything at all, and at that point i coulda been drunk with less effort. I'd try again, tho... it did feel more potent the second time for sure
- speaking of drunk i rather liked this 2003 vintage port i bought... but had no one to drink it with, tsk
- rocknroll... haven't been to a concert since october but i went to a LOT last year... radiohead twice, sigur ros, three music festivals, tiesto...
- as of now i'm forcing a moratorium on any concert going unless and until i get a job >.< same with travelling out of town... i wont do it unless i'm employed.
- and... i think that's about it?
