In other computer-y news, I'm building a new PC in the next couple weeks, preferably before Christmas (but after Finals through the 19th), though I may end up waiting until January depending on how busy things get at home. I still haven't made up my mind on a few things, i.e. which CPU/motherboard/RAM to get, though I'll likely end up with the cheapest on my list for all three.*
I ordered the case today though; it's only going to be $110 after rebates, which isn't bad compared to the ~$150 I thought it'd be back in August. Combined with free shipping, it's not a bad deal at all. I bought a power supply a few months back, when CompUSA had it on sale for (I think) $60.

I've also purchased a couple of new hard drives in the last month or so, when they were on sale; they'll be my new C: drive... one of my current C: drive disks seems to be about to die, so I decided to replace it with a 500GB paid for the new system.

This will leave me with a spare 250GB SATA drive, and a dodgy 250GB SATA drive... perhaps I could ship those, laden with data, to someone who wants to take their chances with them?
(ahhh, see, you knew there was a reason you read this whole thing...)

Go get a copy of Heima somewhere and watch it. :)
That is all ^_^

* regarding financing for this new computer; I'm winging it, kindasorta... I have cash on hand for roughly half the cost, and the rest I'll try to get from my parents or, barring that, use my Financial Aid to pay the credit card bill when it arrives in January. I very truly do need a new system, though; this one will be 5 years old in February, and it is no longer reliable enough for me to depend on it for class... It just freezes up a lot, something it never did the first 4 or so years.

old computer, hard drives, money, new computer, sigur ros
