(no subject)
so since i'm stuck in the comm building for about 32 minutes yet i figure i'll search my thoughts and spit them out on a webpage for everyone to read.
i stinkin love music.
last night i had a concert. we played Saint-Saëns' danse bacchanal from Samson and Delilah, Puccini Humming Chorus from Madama Butterfly, excerpts from the marriage of figgaro, something else that escapes me, and romeo and juliette, chimarosa's thing. the soloists were wonderful. it was awesome. we ended with danse bacchanal of course and it was so intense and we played it well and the director was excited. oh man i kinda started laughing while playing the last page. it's really crazy rhytmes and runs and then we have a grand pause-ish thing (not really just the violins finally have some rest measures) then the main theme comes back but we play it all on the g-string and then there's a big presto! and we run and run and run and it basically feels like i'm in a war. then we finish! with a huge fat chord that we send resonating into the hall. it's amazing.
to top it all of (well we did it before the concert and during intermission) my pal cori and i always plan on jammin etc but we haven't found time yet so while we had nothing to do before the concert we went out into the hall with some other girls (chetta!! n others :) ) and played/learned this really fun fiddling tune. we were in the hall way of the aud and it is such a massive resonating place. it was crazy. the sound was everywhere! it was like you were standing in the middle of a circle of your friends and they're pushing you (in a loving manor). baaaah! during intermission cori and i were the only violins out there and we decided to go in the hall and make up some sweet variations on happy birthday (that we just played for chetta!! happy birthday chetta!!!). then cori started doing some rhythmic thing and i started messing around on top of her bass line and it sounded so cool! people started coming into the hall and when we finally stopped i noticed some people behind me. haha. i kinda got embarrased. that just shows me even more that music is a communication of the heart and i wouldn't have gotten nervous if i didn't take interest in it or give soemthing of myself to create what just happen. mmm. i think cori and i are going to jam more. this makes me kinda want to be in a band. this makes me kinda want to be in a band a lot. a lot.
basically, rock out.
p.s. along with all of the sweetness that happened this week God blessed me a lot with some great alone time and letting me do all of my school work and now i can relax and do a crapload more.
