“No, Ganpa, my seat here,” she patted the rear passenger door of Alan’s sedan.
“It was,” Alan bent to be level with the little girl, “but you’re a big girl now, so we moved your booster seat to the other side of the backseat. Your cousin’s car seat is on this side now.”
“Cousien Cooper,” Alania began to jump up and down, trying to see into the car.
Alan laughed and picked Alania up, “He’s not in there, silly. See?”
Alania pressed her face to the window. Wrapping an arm around Alan’s neck, she asked, “Why baby seat, if no baby cousien?”
“Cause, Grandpa gets really red in the face and has a vein come out on his forehead and says bad words when he’s got to install the car seats,” Charlie teased as he joined them in the driveway.
“I don’t say bad words,” Alan defended as he walked around the car to settle Alania in the backseat. “But, Uncle Charlie is right; it is easier for Grandpa to just leave them in the car.”
“And it saves money in the cuss jar,” Charlie ducked as Alan throw one of Alania’s toys at his head.
