So, the Boston Globe's editors have their panties in a bunch, and there's nothing that I enjoy more than when that happens. It seems that the Gov. made a very un-Massachusetts comment (gasp!). He stated that members of radical mosques and middle-Eastern students should be monitored in the name of national security, namely through the use of wiretaps. Has this thought not entered their minds? Are they THAT out of touch with reality? Where is the terrorism coming from? Not from: the Irish, the British, the Canadians, the Russians, the Taiwanese, I could go on, but I think the point has been made. Perhaps not all Muslims are terrorists, but it is impossible to deny that so far, all of the terrorists have been Muslims. Why then, is it so wrong to profile Muslims? The Supreme Court has held in the past that the State may profile in the name of national security (case in point: Japanese internment camps during WWII). The Boston Globe apparently wants more US citizens to get killed. What else could explain their blatant disregard for the life and limb of Americans? I say, "Right on, Mr. Governor!" But let us not stop at wiretaps, let us profile at airports, at subways, at bus terminals and any other public place. For it is only through calling the enemy by name that we may be victorious over him.
