The Oregon science fiction convention has begun. We arrived at the downtown hotel shortly after the dinner hour. It was nice to check in before the big lines of a typical Saturday morning. We went to panels and got the lay of the land, though it was quite similar to last year. The OryCon folks managed to draw some great writer talent this year. I'm very excited.
I met and shook hands with Ursala K. Le Guin. She's a wonderful lady and very dignified.
http://www.ursulakleguin.com/UKL_info.html I also heard Vonda McIntyre speak on a panel. She's a sweet lady very much like our Moonmaid with a science job, sharp wit, very sparkly eyes and a great laugh. Afterwards, I shook her hand as well.
http://www.vondanmcintyre.com/ We heard some filking. Makes me think of Ladyat. Otter gamed some. Rowan got a line in the opening skit for OryCon. I'm sure it's on tape somewhere.
I can't wait to do it again tomorrow!
