30 Days, 30 Posts: Day 2 - Where You'd Like To Be In 10 Years.
Hmmm.
Where do I want to be in ten years?
Where do I want to be in ten months?
Where do I want to be in ten hours?
I'm not sure. At least, I'm not sure enough that I can give an answer even I find satisfactory.
Life's not bad.
But I suppose I could name a few improvements. It'd be nice to have:
- A decent collection of artistic works
- A cat (or cats)
- Someone to share things with (and cuddle!)
- The jetpack I was supposed to have by 2001
- A place of my own
- A robot that tidies up after (also promised to me by 2001)
- More time to see my friends
I think goals over ten years are laudible, but possibly missing the point.
It might be better to take what I'm going to call an "Ancient Mariner's" stance on it. Have some guiding lights and points of reference in the distance, and pay a lot more attention to the here and now in case there's a big rock somewhere out there. Because daydreaming about landfall at your destination might prove a bit dangerous when you're at sea...
