I've had one Capital One card since high school - credit limit, $1000.

I signed up for a Chase card in order to get some free pizza. Credit limit - $3000.

When I opened my Bank of America account, they told me I instantly qualified for a $7500 credit card, which I accepted so I could have overdraft protection without a savings account.

Speaking of BoA, if you go in and open an account and apply for a credit card, they'll tell you your credit rating. I remember you were interested in that awhile back, and the services wouldn't actually tell you your score - just tell you whether it was good, bad, or whatevs.

Fyi, mine is incredibly good, and I don't really know why.

Thanks for the tip, but I already have both an account and a credit card with them. :( They issued me a $6,500 credit card about two years ago, and the limit has not gone up, probably because I don't use it.

My other credit card, from Citicards, has had its limit increased to $3,500. (This one I opened to get free pizza.)

I'm sure you could ask them to up the limit, since I assume you've been paying bills in a timely manner and stuff.
